In Matthew's Gospel and Mark's Gospel, Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee when he called the brothers, Simon and Andrew.

Luke's Gospel, does not really say how Jesus met Andrew, except that he was Peter's brother.

In John's Gospel (1:35-40), Jesus had returned to the place of his baptism, traditionally by the River Jordan, when John the Baptist pointed him out to two of his disciples, one of whom was Andrew.

Who is the very first apostle of JESUS?

A:In Mark's Gospel, followed by Matthew, Jesus met Peter and Andrew together at the Sea of Galilee. So in these gospels Peter and Andrew were the first apostles to meet Jesus. In Luke's Gospel, Andrew is not mentioned until verse 6:14, then only as Peter's brother. It appears that Peter was probably the firstapostle to meet Jesus, and probably when Jesus went to his house and cured his mother-in-law.In John's Gospel, Andrew was the first named apostle to meet Jesus, when John the Baptist pointed Jesus out to Andrew and another of his disciples. We do not know who the second disciple was, but he also followed Jesus and might have become a disciple in this story. Afterwards, Andrew ran and told Peter that they had found the Messiah, so clearly Peter did not previously know of Jesus.

Who are Simon and Andrew?

Simon [Peter] and Andrew were brothers. Andrew was one of John the Baptist's many followers or disciples. It's not that well known or understood today that the prophecies of the Bible appeared to the Jews of that time, to be all lining up and coming to fruition; and that all of Judaea was "looking for the Messiah to appear."It was John the Baptist who was the harbinger or the one to whom many looked to "identify" the Messiah to them when He finally appeared. And that's exactly what he did. And Andrew was one of John's disciples on the scene when the Messiah's identity was revealed:"...John said, 'I saw the Holy Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and resting upon Him. I didn't know He [Jesus] was the One, but when God sent me to baptize with water, He told me, ''When you see the Holy Spirit descending and resting upon someone, HE IS THE ONE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. He is the One who Baptizes with the Holy Spirit.'''I SAW THIS HAPPEN TO JESUS, so I TESTIFY THAT HE IS THE SON OF GOD.'" (John 1:32-34 NLT New Living Translation)"The following day, John was again standing with two of his disciples. As Jesus walked by, john looked at Him and then declared, 'LOOK! THERE IS THE LAMB OF GOD!'Then John's two disciples turned and followed Jesus..."...ANDREW, SIMON PETER's BROTHER WAS ONE OF THESE MEN who had heard what John said and then followed Jesus. The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother, Simon, and tell him, 'WE HAVE FOUND THE MESSIAH' (which means the Christ). Then Andrew brought Simon to meet Jesus..." (verses 35-42).
