I don't think many of them went to Heaven but after Jesus was crucified he did not go straight to Heaven. For three days he was in Hades and while there he saved all the souls of the Old Testament that deserved to be saved.
All Souls Day is also called "Day of the Dead". The Mexicans go to cemeteries to celebrate their dead.

Um, the Old Testament itself is a historical book. It doesn't go much older than the very beginning. We call the scrolls that make up the Old Testament the Red Sea scrolls.
