Man evolved from prehistoric water creatures so man started in the primordial waters of earth.

Man was created in the image of God, His creator. God formed man from the dust of the earth, breathing life into him, which explains our souls, as God is a Spirit. Souls are human spirits, after all, and spirits live eternally.

The real answer is that all life today evolved from earlier species. Even most religious people in the world accept this as a valid scientific theory. The story of Adam & Eve is about ethics and tradition, not about science.
