Where does the life force go at the time of death?

The energy in the human body is a combination of three kinds of energy: Answers.com energy, heat and electrical energy. Chemical energy is stored in chemical bonds and electrical energy in electric potential differences between the cytoplasm and the intercellular fluid.

Heat is the useless kind of energy. There's not much you can do with it and it will simply dissipate through the air around you. The electrical energy becomes heat when the cells die and they can no longer maintain the potential differences. The only usefull kind is chemical energy. Bugs, bacteria and fungi breaks the bonds down to use the chemical energy for themselves. Some chemical energy remains in terms of bones.

This is what happens to all energy if energy is defined like it is in physics and chemistry.

In my own opinion, the life force or soul of someone that has passed, stays with the living on another plane of existence. They're still there in spirit just the body is buried. If that opinion does not suit you, then the life force or soul travels along with the body "upwards or downwards" if you get my jist. And another would be that it dies along with the person, the light dims as the shine from the eyes does.

MY opinion (as a Christian) is that you go to God (Jesus) to be judged by Him, and if, on Earth, you have prayed to Him and admitted that Jesus came down to Earth 2000 years ago to die on a cross for your sins, and ask for His forgiveness and love, you will go to heaven and live a perfect life in the presence of God, with other fellow Christians. There will be no hurt, sickness, pain, hunger, thirst, or most importantly, death. You will live for ever in peace and comfort, giving glory to God, who created the heavens and the Earth.

On the other hand, if you have rejected Christ on Earth, you will have to spend all eternity in Hell (also known as Hades), with no love or compassion from ANYONE (because God won't be there, and therefore no love will be around.)

First law of thermodynamics: Energy cannot be created or destroyed. Therefore, your energy lives on, albeit in a different form.

You cease to exist upon death as the biochemical and electrochemical interactions in the body cease. Like turning off a light switch.

You can go to heaven or hell but your body stays on earth...but please don't think to much about death because then you will see ghosts
