It doesn't.

The Jew and Gentile are separately dealt with throughout Scripture. People have tried to implement a "replacement theology", which essentially says, "The Jews rejected Jesus so the church now takes the Jews place". There is no scripture basis for this.

Jews can become believers, and they get the best of the covenants for the Jews and those for the believer, but Paul explicitly talks to this subject in Romans 9-11. Chapter 9 is the past, chapter 10 talked about the present situation in Paul's day, and chapter 11 talks about Israel's future.

In short, God is not through with Israel. The "all Israel shall be saved" component is not yet fulfilled.

Romans 11 does speak of the believers as being "in-grafted branches". This means that we are plugged into the "anointed people" aspect of the kingdom of God. Yet, we are still gentile in nature, though we share in the blessing. The Jew came first, and salvation is of the Jews. (remember that Jesus is a Jew).

ADDITION

When a Gentile believes on Jesus Christ by faith he also becomes a son of Abraham. We are not Jewish children of Abraham physically, but spiritually we become his children Galatians 3:5-9
