There are many places in the New Testament where believers are called saints. Here are two of them.
Rom 1:7 To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Col 1:2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Greek word hagios is translated into English saint. It is used of believers. These are called hagioi, "saints," i.e., "sanctified" or "holy" ones.
This name is not because of anything believers have done but because God in His grace has called believers to know Him, to be separated from the world to God.
It is called a litany, as in Litany of Saints.
