There is no direct reference in The Bible to Simon Peter being crucified. The two references to his death are in John 21:19 where Peter asked Jesus how he would die. The bible does not record Jesus' response. The second reference, which is where Catholic historians draw a reference to crucifixion is in the previous verse (John 21:18) which prompted Peter to ask Jesus about his manner of death. ("when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.") Some feel that the reference to outstretched hands is referring to crucifixion.
