There are two views in the Catholic Church.

1.) Mary, at the end of her years on earth, was taken body and soul into heaven.

2.) Mary died and a short time later, after her burial, her body was assumed into Heaven and reunited with her soul.

Either belief is acceptable and not specified in the Doctrine of the Assumption.

Both Jerusalem and Ephesus claim they have the tomb of Mary but there is no evidence to support either.

Another Answer:

The Orthodox Church teaches that the Virgin Mary died and then was assumed bodily into Heaven, which means that her tomb is empty. Her tomb still exists to this day and is located in the Old City of Jerusalem.
