The noun form for the adjective different is differentness. Another noun form is difference.
Hinduism states:There is only One God, but different names - The Truth (God) is one, but wise people call by different names.One God, but different forms - Brahman (God), the formless, is assigned forms only for the convenience of the aspirants. Whatever form any devotee with faith, wishes to worship, God manifest in that form.One God, but different paths - Just as rain water irrespective of the place where it falls, ultimately reaches ocean, the worship rendered to all deities of whatever description (name or form), ultimately reaches the Supreme Reality (God).Tolerance to other religions - Hinduism respects other religions as another path to reach God, who is called by a different name or having a different form.Hinduism does not claim that it is the only path to reach God.
When God Revealed Himself to early man, & man began to form religious ceremonies to worship Him, various ideas about God came to be formed & men disagreed with one another, so different religions came to be.
The holy ghost or (spirit) is another form of Jesus and God
Vishnu who took a form of Rama in Ramayana and took another form of Krishna in Mahabharat.
Zeus was never replaced it is just another form of the gods. his roman form is Jupiter.
By using the murtis the hindus can decide the location where to worship.In other words the murtis help them to know the form of god and to believe that god is in front of them ready to be worshipped.

Although the Trinity can be confusing, it makes sense. God the Father brought Jesus down to Earth as a form of him. By then, there were two forms of God. When Jesus later rose into Heaven, he sent down the Holy Spirit, the third form of God. It's not 3 different people, just 3 different forms of God.
