Samson was a judge in the Old Testement. His strength lied in the locks of his hair. He was decieved and then betrayed by Delilah. The story is found in the book of Judges beginning in Chapter 13.

In the Old Testament (Judges 14) we are told that Samson killed a lion. Then later he went to the house of a woman he was going to marry and turned aside to look at the carcass of the lion he had killed and saw that a swarm of bees had made it their home and was producing honey. When Samson and the woman were to marry there was a seven day feast and Samson proposed a riddle, which pertained to the honey.
