Answer
Jesus gave us both of these as part of the Sermon on the Mount as recorded on Matthew 5: 13-16.
Jesus called his disciples "the salt of the Earth" and "the light of the world".
There is no specific Bible verse that mentions the dissolving of salt in hot and cold water. The Bible does mention salt in various contexts, such as being the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13) and using salt as a metaphor for seasoning or flavoring in cooking.
The word "salt" is in the King James Version of the Bible 41 times. It is in 35 verses.
Read the Bible.
(Matthew 5:13-16) "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house."Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."(NAS)

Thousands of years ago the ancients mined salt ( many of those mines are still working) and it is the salt mines that gave them the salt.
This is probable an error in the question. Any link between salt and light.
