Who is Jesus as a friend?

Though Jesus Christ was born over 2000 years ago, and He is no longer on earth, I personally can say Yes Jesus Christ is my friend. And those who come to believe in Jesus can be His friend also, even these many year later.

Jesus, as a friend, is someone whom you have not actually met, from whom you do not receive email, with whom you have not had dinner (although if you believe in transubstantiation, you have eaten his flesh and drunk his blood) and whose phone number you do not have, and who does not send you a greeting card on your birthday, but nonetheless, whom you believe cares about you personally. You take his friendship on faith.
