The term "Mormonism" is a misnomer and really should not apply.

Jesus Christ lead him through all of these events to establish his (Jesus Christ) church again on the earth after it had been taken away for a long time. Joseph became a prophet of Jesus' church and now every time our prophet dies, Jesus Christ calls a new one in his place to keep his church going.
