Read the book of Genesis, 1:1-5
God created the Darkness.

I don't think so.
Doesn't it say that he 'separated the light from the darkness' which implies that darkness was already there?

That may be true, But God created EVERYTHING. Light, Darkness, Bad and good.

Good point but does darkness really count as a thing to be created?

Gen 1:1-5 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth 2The earth was without form and void and darkness was on the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters. 3And God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light. 4And God saw that the light was good: and God separated the light from the darkness. 5God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.

Sorry to quote so much but it seems to me that the passage states that God created the heavens, the earth and light but it does not state the origins of the darkness.
