Noah was born nine generations after Adam(Genesis 5:3-29), and, according to The Bible, he "... was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God". (Genesis 6:9)(Genesis 7:1)

He carried animals on his ark, because he was told by God to do so(Genesis 6:22), in order to preserve them alive when God brought a flood to destroy wicked humans (Genesis 6:5-7)(Genesis 6:13-20).
