There are two references to 'Salome' in The Bible.

1. According to Jewish historian, Josephus, Salome was the daughter of Herodias and her half-uncle Herod Philip. Though her name is not mentioned in the Bible, she figures prominently in the death of John the Baptizer(Matthew 14:1-11; Mark 6:16-28; Luke 3:19+20; 9:9)where she asks for his head in reward for her dancing.

2. Another Salome was a follower of Jesus and believed, by many, to be the sister of Jesus' mother, Mary, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee, the apostles James and John(compare:Matthew 27:56 with Mark 15:40) .

The only 'Salome' in Scripture is noted being at the crucifixion and going to bring spices to the body in the tomb with the women when Christ arose.
