Many scholars distinguish between anti-Judaism, which was directed against the Jews as a religious group and the 'new' antisemitism that arose from about 1870 onwards, which was based on 'race' rather than religion. Usually, traditional anti-Judaism was not concerned very much with ancestry but generally only with current religion. (There were some exceptions, the key one being in Spain, where converts from Judaism to Christianity were often called 'New Christians' for generations after their conversion). Racial antisemitism, on the other hand sees Jews as a race and focuses on a person's origins ... For example, in Nazi Germany, people 'accused' of being Jewish had to produce certificates of baptism for all four grandparents. (In practice, there was overlap between the two kinds of antisemitism).
Governor Herbert Hoover was a notable critic of the New Deal, expressing concerns about its expansion of federal power and its impact on states' rights. He believed that the New Deal's policies undermined local governance and failed to address the root causes of the Great Depression. Additionally, some governors from metropolitan areas also voiced opposition, arguing that the New Deal's focus on rural America often neglected urban needs and challenges.

The New Deal
The Critic - 2012 IV was released on: USA: 18 July 2012 (Albuquerque, New Mexico)
Communists denounced the slow pace of change and accused the New Deal of failing to serve the interests of the workers who produced the nation's wealth. Conservative leaders believed that the New Deal's failure to lift the nation out of the depression indicated that Americans were ready for a change. Left wing critics insisted that the New Deal had missed the opportunity to displace capitalism with a socialist economy and that voters would embrace candidates who recommended more radical remedies. -Amanda
