Abraham's father was Terah (Genesis ch.10-11). His mother, according to tradition, was called Amatlai bat (daughter of) Carnabu (Talmud, Bava Batra 91). Abraham's parents were idolaters who followed the widespread practice of moon-worship. They taught this to their children, with their son Nahor accepting it, but Haran remained skeptical, and Abraham rejected it.
