There are two answers to your question. The whole human race is responsible for Jesus Christ's death and no one is responsible. Christ died in our place. He paid the price for all the sins of all mankind, but, he gave his life willingly. He had the ability and the power to save himself from death, but he chose not to. It was the only way that anyone could ever be saved and go to Heaven.
Another answerJesus died on the cross. By crucifixion. A punishment that the Roman's practiced. Roman soldiers carried it out. It was ordered by the Roman govenor (called a prefect) Pontius Pilate, whom the historian Philo characterizes as a rigid and unpitying administrator.
The idea that the whole human race is responsible for the death of Jesus is incorrect.
A scriptural reference:
The Bible indicates that the religious leaders of the day demanded his death (Matthew 26:63-66; Mark 14:61-64)
The Romans carried it out (Joh 18:29-19:16).
but as has been mentioned, Jesus GAVE his life willingly. No one could have taken it if God had not allowed it, and Jesus had not given it. John 10:17,18 reads: "This is why the Father loves me, because I surrender my soul, in order that I may receive it again. No man has taken it away from me, but I surrender it of my own initiative. I have authority to surrender it, and I have authority to receive it again."
Another answer:
Judas turned Jesus in to the Roman authorities for 30 gold pieces and later hung himself because he was so ashamed of himself. The Romans physically killed him as they were the only people who had the authority. Pontius Pilate had the chance to save him but decided not to as he viewed Jesus as a threat to the Roman king. Pontius Pilate washed his hands of the situation and let the crowd decide whether they thought it should be Barabbas or Jesus killed. The crowd chose Jesus to be killed.
It was no one's fault. God told Jesus that He would die for the sins of man. As Jesus was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, the devil (aka Satan) tempted Him while He was praying. And you might be confused with the part when Satan tempted Jesus in the desert for turning stones into bread, bowing down to Satan, and falling off the temple roof (these temptations ARE in order).
Roman Catholic AnswerJesus Christ died because of my sins. Ultimately, it is the fault of everyone of us.The Roman Empire was the one who crucified Jesus on the cross. The Jewish authority was the one who brought Jesus to the Romans to be executed. There is more to this story, please read the bible.
People who are killed for believing in Jesus are called martyrs
Yes, with GOD.
No specific person killed Jesus, but he was crucified on a vote of the people.
Neither of those killed Jesus. Jesus died because he was crucified on the cross.
The Jews who followed him wanted him as a king, but the priests wanted him killed.
Jesus
Jesus was killed on the cross on a hil called Golgotha. The cross was punishment for top criminals, It was brought by the Romans from Asia Minor , todays Turkey.
In a way, everyone "killed" Jesus because He died for our sins (Willingly though). No, Catholics didn't really kill Jesus physically, the people that killed Jesus were the people living in Jerusalem specifically the Jewish priests at the time. The people and leaders wanted Jesus dead and the Roman soldiers killed Him. We're called Roman Catholics because our Church took shape mainly around Rome and uses the Roman rite (Latin Rite). The term Roman Catholic doesn't have anything to do with Roman people at the time of Jesus. We should not hate Jews or Romans etc. since Jesus loves everybody and everyone (including Catholics) have taken part in killing Jesus through our sins.
