Haggai and Zachariah
Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) was the last prophet of Islam. He preached the same message of the ONENESS of Almighty God as preached by Hazrat Adam AS, Hazrat Noah AS, Hazrat Abraham AS, Hazrat Jacob, Hazrat Moses AS and all the other Prophets (May peace be upon them all). He preached the worship of ONE Almighty Allah. He preached Justice, Equality, Kindness, and Human brotherhood. His teachings are based on the last Heavenly Book, the holy Qur'an. He preached to have faith in all prophets, all heavenly books, Angels, Life Hereafter, Day of Judgment ect.
In the broadest sense one could say prophets gave some hope. Amos was one of the twelve minor prophets. His time was around 750 B.C.E. Though from the south Amos preached in the Northern Kingdom of Israel. There was peace and prosperity during his time. Amos mostly preached about social justice, between the rich and poor, God's Omnipotence, which means God had unlimited power. Since he preached about the inequality between the rich and the poor, it would be safe to say that he gave poor people hope of God's rewards to the faithful.

Back then the prophets were alive so people followed them and the prophets taught them everything.

Prophets are messengers of Allah who convey message of Allah to the people .
a Friar lived among the people preached the word of the church to counter prevent heresy.
A preacher is someone Chosen to Speak God's holy word. The Most renoun preacher in American History was Jonathan Edwars who preached " Sinners in the hands of an angry God."
The code of ethics of the Prophets was the Torah itself. The prophets are forbidden to alter the Torah or add different laws (Talmud, Shabbat 104a). The Torah contains plenty of ethics (Love your fellow, do not oppress the widow or orphan, do not refuse to loan money, do not overwork your laborer, do not withhold the wife's marital rights, do not slander, return lost objects, repay damages caused, and so on). These are things that bear repeating; even good people can use reminders. The prophets repeated and expanded upon these same ethics.
