Proverbs 1:25 is part of an utterance by Lady Wisdom (Proverbs 1:20-33). No one knows who wrote this passage, but it is believed to date from the Babylonian Exile, when Wisdom began to supercede the ancient goddess Asherah among the Jews.

The first chapter of Proverbs may have been written, or at least collected, by Solomon. There have also been suggestions that David may have written the sayings for his son.
