Uttradhyayana Sutra was is the last preachment of Lord Mahavira. The principle disciple of Lord Mahavira known as Ganadhara inscripted the preaches. But all the Jaina Sutras (Texts) travelled from guru to disciples through memories. Later on it was felt that due to time effect and erosion of human capabilities some monks were unable to keep sutras remembered fully. Then after 980 years of attainement of Moksha by Lord Mahavira, the then Patriarch Devardhi GaNi Kshama ShramaN arranged a conclave of all the learned monks at Valabhi (Gujrat). All the sutras were then written down. Present form of sutras including Uttradhyayan since then is the same. KAMAL JAIN, MEERUT (UP)
