It is not unbelievable, nor is it a scheme. I am a Christian and it makes MUCH more sense than a big bang. God created us because he loves us. He wants to give us a chance at life. There is no deception, just an overwhelmingly abundant life full of love. I can't explain the entire Christian faith here.
