That style of English was felt able to convey a greater level of respect for the Divine Creator than today's English. In many languages there pronouns of respect and pronouns for people who are equals. Current English has lost that distinction. The so-called King James English retains that distinction and so was used. This decision was made by Shoghi Effendi, Guardian (and Head) of the Baha'i Faith and authorized interpreter/translator of Baha'i scripture.
