Muslims are not mean. In America, if thats where you live, terroist in that area are often Muslim. But that is the Terroist, not the normal citizens. They do belive however that they are killing others for their God.

Stop discussing whether Muslims hate women and look at the hard cold facts. In Egypt, 78% of females have been raped and 50% have been genitally mutilated. That's Egypt. Just imagine if you can tolerate such imaginings what it is like deeper into the desert, the jungles of Africa and wherever else they are carrying out this bizarre form of their religion. I'm telling you the prophet is spinning in his grave; this is SO not what he had in mind.

This is not unique to Islam. In most developing countries, there are strong cultural traditions of male superiority and female inferiority. The woman is expected to be complacent and accepting, while the man is supposed to be aggressive and physical. The friction comes when these traditional values come into contact and conflict with Western ideas about the role of women and modern Human Rights.

Conservatives make arguments that Q: 2:228 and 4:34 clearly assert that men are superior to women and therefore this treatment is acceptable. Liberals and Apologists make arguments that these verses and similar ones simply assert that men and women have different roles in the creation of a family and are certainly not a license to foul treatment. They consider the cultural traditions that lead to the foul treatment to be a holdover from Pre-Islamic Civilizations and which should be eradicated.Unfortunately, in the case of Islam, the majority of Muslims believe that this unequal spousal relationship is derived from the sources of Islam as opposed to being a Pre-Islamic tradition and accept the Conservatives' arguments. This makes it very difficult for Human Rights organizations to help protect women's rights and teach the next generation of Muslim men to respect their women as equal partners; since these ideas concerning equality are seen as "Anti-Islamic".
