Some christian denominations do baptise children when they are still babies. However, other denominations DEDICATE their children but leave them to make their own choice about baptism.
My denomination dedicates - so I will explain that in order to answer your question- if you don't think I do answer it, sorry and I hope someone else will edit it. Basically, when a child is born into the church, their parents often decide to dedicate their child. THey are dedicating it to God and saying that they understand that the child is a gift from God and belongs to God. The parents, God parents and congregation then make vows to bring the child up in the best, christian way possible. When that child is older - If they understand and accept the teaching they have received and if they become christians, they may want to be baptised.
In Anglican churches, babies are baptised as infants. This is similar to dedication but as I said, slightly different. So, to answer your question, because the parents and the church want to recognise that the baby is a precious gift from God and they want to show that publicly. Some people, if their babies are born ill or close to death, even if the parents are not christians, they want their baby to go to heaven so thay will baptise it. Personly, I think babies and young children would go to heaven anyway.
Hope this is helpful... :D
yes
the church is were you go to pray on sunday. Babies are baptised in the church.
Yes, he and his brother Mikey were both baptized when they were babies.
You can be any age at baptism. Mostly it is babies that are baptised, but it can be children or adults who are baptised too. So there is no set age for baptism.
You don't have to be a certain age for baptism, babies to elderly people get baptised
Sure
The colour they were is white this means it is starts a new life as a holy one
To be baptised means that you are now an adopted or accepted christian. If you are not baptised you still hold original sin.
No the person would have to be still living. If someone has died without being baptised a 'Prayer for the dead' can be said and offered up.
Being anointed is like being baptised, except with oil. People who have been "anointed" are said to be somehow chosen by god.
When you are baptized every sin you have commited before that time you are free from. But if you are a baby you havent commited any sin because to commit a sin you must know it is wrong but still do it.
Baptising babies at a young age is important to the religion, and it's to do with religious beliefs. Not all people are baptised as babies, but the majority of people are. It's not necessary to be baptised at a young age, but is preferred in the religion. Many families believe that baptism will help keep the baby healthy and safe at a young age and reduce the risk of cot death :)
