In my opinion:
God created the space first, then filled the space. In The Bible it is referred to as 'in the first day' but the element of time is not what our element of time is.
God made the universe perfect. He would not have created man/woman and then figured out what to do with them.
When he got to the man and woman, it was still to be a perfect world.
God is good, so the universe has the balance of bad/evil. Evil was the tempter in the creation of man/woman.
As in our every day of life, we make our choice of good vs evil.
And our choice affects us and those around us.
