Horace Mann believed that religion should not be taught in schools to ensure the separation of church and state and to promote a common, secular education for all students, regardless of their religious backgrounds. He argued that public education should focus on civic virtues and moral values that could unite a diverse population, rather than potentially dividing it along religious lines. Mann advocated for a system that emphasized critical thinking and universal principles rather than specific religious doctrines. This approach aimed to foster social harmony and inclusivity in a pluralistic society.
Islam is the right religion and the one you should follow
No. My opinion is that prayer should not be part of our schools. I raised 5 children through the public school system and I believe religion should be kept in the church or in the privacy of your home.
They believe religion should be followed literally.
Horace Mann believed that teachers should be trained, all citizens deserve an education, and education should be paid for by the government. He also advocated for non-corporal punishments in the school.
I quote the Walrus: I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me." You could be the Walrus... BELIEVE!!
monotheisim or tyranny
No. God is true and you better believe it.
None if you believe in freedom of religion. In that case they're parallel.
Extremism in religion is when people believe strongly that their religion is best; everyone should be that religion. For example, the Taliban are extremists. They believe that everyone should be Muslim, and also, they must be strict Muslim. They must follow every single Muslim law. Extremism - to be extreme.
I think religion should be taught in public schools. It should not say this is what's right to believe and this is what's wrong, but students should be educated about the most predominant religions. It would allow students to get a better understanding of something and allow for more acceptance and maybe some will find a religion that suits them more.
Yes I would say it is okay, as we can gain knowledge from others and their religion. But hurting each others religion should not be encouraged at all.
Some people think they shouldn't because its against there religion. Because your parents believe in not cloning people then that doesnt mean that you should to. You should believe in what you think you should. So they answer is in your self, and that means the answer is whatever you want it to be. :)
