Why did Jesus died on the cross on Friday?

Good Friday is the day that Jesus died on the cross, and then two days later, He had risen from the dead! They celebrate it because it is the day they have a Saviour that still lives.

Good Friday is observed on the Friday before Easter Sunday. On this day Christians commemorate the passion, or suffering, and death on the cross of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

It was good for mankind, because "Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures". (1Corinthians 15:3), "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace". (Ephesians 1:7) And that is good news for us, because He took our place, paid for our sin so we don't have to. It was not Friday though, but that's not important.
