Why did Moses lead God's people out of the land of Egypt?

God had heard the Israelites prayers and moses had run away from Egypt after he had killed one of the guards so god told moses to go back to Egypt to free his people. Since Pharaoh refused to free them god sent 10 plagues on to Egypt and finally Pharaoh let the Israelites go free. Moses led them out of Egypt and after he had died Joshua took over and led them to the land that God had promised them.

Throughout the Bible is "duality"... things happen in "twos."

There are "two deaths": "...he that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death." (Rev.2:11)

"Two births": "...Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." (John 3:3)

And so shall there be a "second exodus" of God's people to salvation: "...Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will shew you to day..." (Ex.14:13).

The exodus from Egypt is the first fulfillment, choreographed to begin the plan and salvation of the Lord. That first Passover set up the pattern of God's Holy Day feasts and observances that have since been required to be observed as a memorial as well as a looking-forward-to the ultimate salvation of the world.

That exodus pointed to the first coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. It pointed to the shed blood of the Lamb of God, which, that night, spared the Israelites the deaths of their firstborn. It ultimately released them from their bondage in Egypt, symbolizing man's bondage to sin (Egypt symbolizes sin).

Jesus, the Almighty Creator God of the Old Testament (John 1:3)... guided them through the "wilderness" of the world toward the Red Sea, the apparent "end of the line"... the end of their lives, where they thought Pharaoh (Satan) and his army (demons) would finish them off... but where Moses told them to fear not and stand still and witness the Lord's salvation. The Red Sea (death) parted... and they passed through, dry shod, to salvation... a type of baptism into a new life.

In like manner, once His blood sets us free from sin and death, Christ is our guide through the remainder of our mortal life. He stands between us and the wiles of Satan (between Pharaoh and his army)... protecting us... until the day we die, or He returns... whichever comes first.

The first exodus is for the "first generation of God's children" whom He is calling now to train and rule in His Kingdom with Him when He returns to earth. His commanded Holy Day feasts reveal His plan of salvation. It began with that first Passover in Egypt... and ends with the Last Great Day (Judgment Day) and salvation, as Jesus demonstrates:

"...In the last day, that GREAT DAY OF THE FEAST, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, LET HIM COME UNTO ME, and drink..." (John 7:37).

The "second exodus" will occur when Jesus returns to the earth.

All of humanity shall have been scattered around the world by then. Society will be in shambles. Cities will be ghost towns: "...until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate, and the Lord have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land." (Isa.6:11-12)

The second exodus will be for the salvation of the whole world... not just for the "elect" God is calling at this time. Jesus Christ will return after the prophesied Great Tribulation and "remove Satan" (Pharaoh) from influencing the nations. He will guide the nations back from the places where they were scattered... and return them to their lands and reestablish them. He and His saints will plant them, nourish them and teach them His ways... how to live His way.

"...I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither. They shall come weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a Father to Israel, and Ephraim is My firstborn. Hear the Word of the Lord, O YE NATIONS, and declare it in the isles afar off..." (Jer.31:8-10).

"...And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse (Jesus Christ), which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and His rest shall be glorious. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set His hand again THE SECOND TIME to recover the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt... and from the islands of the sea... He shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah (the Jews) from the four corners of the earth... the Lord shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea... and make men go over dryshod. And there shall be an highway for the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria; LIKE AS IT WAS TO ISRAEL IN THE DAY THAT HE CAME UP OUT OF THE LAND OF EGYPT." (Isa.11:10-16)

Jesus led the Israelites out of Egypt (sin) the first time, so that He might lead the whole world to salvation the second time:

"Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that it shall no more be said, The Lord liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; but, The Lord liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither He had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers..." (Jer.16:14-15).

That's why God led the people out of Egypt. That humble beginning shall lead to the salvation of the world.
