Why did Muhammad became the prophet?

The Prophet Muhammad peace with him, became a Prophet by being called to prophethood by The God of mankind. Deuteronomy 18:18 prophecises about him and john 16:12,13 prophecises about him, confirming deuteronomy 18:18. (there are sereval more biblical prophecies that speaks of this Final prophet)

Anyway, he was meditating in a cave, away from all of the idol worshipping pagans, when the Holy Ghost, or Angel Gabriel came and said to him "Read" and he replied, " I can not read". Ths fufills the prophecy in Isaiah about that sats:::"the book will be given to him that is unlearned, saying: "read this, i pray thee" and he replied, "i can not read"

Muhammad became the first and last prophet of Islam by Allah's revelation of the Quran, the Muslim Holy Book, to him through the Angel Gabriel (Jibril) that started in year 610 AD (when prophet Muhammad was 40 years old) through the year 632 AD (year of death of prophet Muhammad PBUH).

For years after his marriage, Muhammad had been used to secluding himself in a cave in Mount Hira in the city of Makkah (Mecca), a few miles from Mecca. To this cave he used to go for prayer and meditation, sometimes alone and sometime with his family. There, he often spent the whole nights in deep thought and profound communion with the Unseen yet All-Knowing Allah of the Universe. It was during one of those retirements, in year 610 AD, and in the still hours of the night, when no human sympathy was near, that Angel Gabriel (Jibril) came to him to tell him that he was the Messenger of Allah sent to reclaim a fallen people to the knowledge and service of their God the Creator. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) then started receiving God Quran revelation to him, through the Angel Gabriel, from year 610 AD until year 632 AD (year of prophet death).

How was assigned by God as prophet and Messenger to convey to people Quran that reflects the real God words revelation to him through the angel Gabriel (Jibril) and to guide people to the right path of God.

In terms of the "leader" part, he proved himself a capable Hakam (Arbitrator) in several disputes between rival tribes and served as commander in several major battles (such as Badr and the Battle of the Trench). These aspects conferred legitimacy on his leadership in addition to his religious qualifications.

Allah thought that Muhammad (PBUH) had all the noble qualifications as a human being to fulfill his commands and teachings. Muhammd (PBUH) was a very kind person who had a very versatile knowledge on the regular happenings on the changing world regarding religions and faiths etc. He used Allah's blessings and guidance to pave a path for his fellow followers in order to teach them about the right religion and good qualities.

Hence, Muhammad (PBUH) was chosen to be the last prophet of Islam due to his exceptional qualities of being a great human being.
