prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) went to the cave because the kufars (unbelievers) were following him and so he went into the cave to hide from them and there a spider web had been formed and then the kufars thought that if the prophet (pbuh) had gone in then the web must have ripped and so the kufars never went in. And the cave was called garhi hira
