Humans, because they have a sinful nature, tend to reject anyone telling them that they must cease sinning. That's the main reason the Jews rejected the prophets God sent. They did not want to accept that the prophets were really from God, and therefore have to stop their sins. So they rejected them and killed them to get rid of them.
Jewish answer:
Note that one or two prophets were killed - not more. So the Question and the first Answer are implying much more than they should.
Also, those one or two prophets were killed by the king, not by the general populace.
Note also that all of the prophets had groups of disciples. They weren't as unpopular as the first Answer implies.
Westerbork was a camp where Jews were sent. Those Jews where then transported to concentration camps to kill them.

According to the view held by most Muslims, virtually all of the prophets mentioned in the Hebrew bible with the exception of Moses, and prophets sent all over the world. The "they killed their prophets" is a very common accusation against religious Jews in the world of Islam, hence Judaism is viewed as a corrupt version of Islam.
