Jesus wasn't "captured," by anyone. The use of the word 'capture' implies Jesus was some kind of fugitive from the law... which He wasn't. The ad hoc militia that arrested Him was sent by the religious leaders of the Temple. They knew where He was. They paid for the information. Jesus was subsequently handed over to the Romans early the next morning. The Romans did nothing to gain control and jurisdiction over Him. Temple authorities handed him over "on a silver platter."
