Why didn't God call the second day of creation good?

The firmament created on the second day was the vast empty space in which He later (on the 4th day) placed the stars, etc. This became the domain of Satan (2 Cor. 4:4, Eph. 2:2). When God sent Michael to minister to Daniel (Dan. 10:13), it took him 21 days to reach earth as Satan's forces resisted his mission. Therefore, God states in Job 15:15, "...the heavens are not clean in His sight."

In a sense, He did. At the end of the creative events in Genesis 1 v31, God said this:

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good

Something I learned a while back was that God did not call the second day good, because He was sad. When He crated the water above, He knew it was the mechanism for destroying the Earth with water and that He would one day need to do it.

Or, he did not call the second day good because "waters" is a symbol for "people" (see Rev. 17:15 "The waters you saw... are peoples, and multitudes and nations..."), and so to separate the waters above from the waters below would have been a picture of separating people above from people below, IOW, separating people into heaven and hell, something God is not pleased to have to do: "The Lord is... not desiring that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).
