Catholics feel it's there duty to help others because in the bible it tells how people helped others. Others just want to follow Jesus in his footsteps and it's the right thing to do. ---- A second answer: Catholics feel it is their duty to help others because the Master commanded us to do so: (as is recorded in Sacred Scripture, Matthew 25: 32-46) (Jesus said) 'When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne, and all the nations will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. Then the king will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.' Then the righteous will answer him and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?' And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.' Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.' Then they will answer and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?' He will answer them, 'Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.' And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
Yes, Catholics are very Charitable people.
Because the Torah commands it (Deuteronomy ch.15).
your feeling
If it is a long term charity give something like 2 to 5 dollars a week or just 30 dollars for a short term charity
Because there are so many people in this world and they need so much help. So we should help them. Even poor people give charity.
Yes they can give a gift to another charity but I do not believe they can deduct the gift on their taxes.
No but it's stupid. You should give it to charity instead!
ShelterBox is a charity, the government giving it money or aid will not change tthe status.
Those would be Peter and Stephan Stephan was the first Martyr being stoned to death he was sainted by the Catholics Peter was nailed backwords to the Cross because he did not believe he should have the right to die the same way as god he is what the catholics believe give them the right to be a universal church for he charged them with the duty and God charged him in their mind set
You don't give to charity because someone gave to yours. You give because it's the right thing to do. You give the amount you feel comfortable giving.
It is especially important to donate. Charity is a virtue. It is a marvelous thing, the bible says that it can forgive your sins and it increases your reward in heaven. Donating is helping a needy brother or sister, you prolong their life, you give hope to the hopeless, you give joy to people. It is most marvelous.
Give it to Charity and help the people around him.
