Passover, or in the spring. Easter was originally a pagan holiday to celebrate the Sun God, which is where the 'Easter Sunrise Service' came from.
During the period between Good Friday and Easter Saturday, many churches and communities hold special services and events to commemorate the Easter weekend. These may include Good Friday services, Easter egg hunts, sunrise services on Easter Sunday, and other religious observances. Check with local churches or community centers for specific events happening in your area.
At Easter, Cuban people celebrate only in churches, as it is NOT an official holiday for them
Easter candles are used in churches to symbolize the presence of the resurrected Christ during the Easter season. They are often lit during special services and represent the light of Christ shining in the world.

To many unbelivers and naysayer look for every possible reason to claim they are right and Christians are wrong! For those who say its pagan, your wrong! We do not watch the sunrise and worship the sun. We watch the Light that was created and worship the SON! To be exact on when Christians started having sunrise services here is the truth! The first Easter Sunrise Service recorded took place in 1732 in the Moravian congregation at Herrnhut in the Upper Lusatian hills of Saxony.[1] After an all-night prayer vigil, the Single Brethren, the unmarried men, of the community, went to the town graveyard, God's Acre, on the Hill above the town, to sing hymns of praise to the Risen Saviour.[1] The following year, the whole Congregation joined in the service. Thereafter the "Easter Morning" or "Sunrise Service" spread around the world with the Moravian missionaries.[1] The procession to the graveyard is accompanied by the antiphonal playing of chorales by brass choirs.[2]
Halloween seems to be on a very church to church basis. Some Presbyterian churches celebrate it as Halloween. Some Presbyterian churches celebrate alternative holidays such as harvest festivals. Other Presbyterian churches do not do anything for that date.
The date of Easter can be as early as March 22 and as late as April 25. For that reason and due to the size of Louisiana, the answer can vary quite a bit. Easter sunrise times at the capital city of Baton Rouge range from 6:25 to 7:05 AM CDT.
At midnight on Easter Eve, Eastern European churches typically hold a special Paschal service, known as the Midnight Office or the Resurrection Vigil. This service often begins in darkness, symbolizing the tomb, and at midnight, the church bells ring, and the faithful sing the Paschal troparion, announcing the Resurrection of Christ. Many congregants participate in a procession around the church, carrying candles, and the atmosphere is filled with joy and celebration. The service culminates in the Divine Liturgy, where the faithful share in the Eucharist.
