Why do jehovahs witnesses not take communion?

Not all. Most Christians do but in order to do Communion, you have to take special classes that are around 3 months long and the Pastor/Preacher teaches the class. The classes are about communion, baptisim, the Ten Commandments etc. and once a person passes all the classes and attended all of them, the then go into Confimation which is a big deal. In confirmation the person has to memorize afew things and then they are confirmed and have their first communion. From then on, in the next church services(Sundays), the person can take communion. Before Confirmation even happens, the person cannot do communion.

No. We believe only the 'remnant' of spiritual 'Israelites' are permitted to partake of the bread and wine at the Memorial of the Lord's Evening Meal celebration.

Currently there are 10,857 partakers of the emblems (communion). The other approximately 7 million Jehovah's Witnesses do not partake.

Answer 2: The Lord's Evening Meal is a communion meal because there is a sharing together. Partakers of the bread and wine acknowledge they are sharers with Christ. The selection of those who partake is not the norm because everyone does not partake. Those who do partake have a peronal witness from God's spirit, the holy spirit imparts a special conviction. At our commemoration of the Lord's Evening Meal only those with a heavenly hope amongst us partake of the emblems of the bread and wine.

The latest available statistics give a total of 10,857 partakers, our highest number since 1967.

The rest of us, around 7 million, do not have a heavenly hope and so don't 'take communion'.
