Turbans are an Arabic cultural clothing object. It is also worn in some places of the Indian subcontinent. It is meant to cover the head. In today's modern world it is replaced by regular caps and hats.

The wearing of the Imamah (Turban) is an important part of Islam. However, it is not compulsory to wear. In the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) Muslims wore the turban as a sign of difference between a Muslim and non Muslim.

Also Muslims believe that the reward of the pray performed while wearing the turban is multiplied 25 times while that Jumu'ah (Friday pray) performed with the turban is also multiplied.
