a TRUE CHRISTIAN does not hate Muslims. to be a christian is to be CHRIST like & he loved everyone. if someone proclaims to be a christian but hates Muslims they need to reevaluate their relationship with CHTIST!!

A good Christian and a good Muslim will get along very well as individuals. However, while we Muslims have been taught to honor Christians by the Qur'an whcih says that the people who are the closest to us in love and compassion are the Christians, the Catholic Church (and now the evangelicals) have always made derogatory remarks about Islam, Muslims and Muhammad. The reason? Because many people who read the Qur'an recognize it as the truth, and they become Muslims.

The Qur'an explains that Jesus is the Messiah - but that his true message was not Trinitarianism. His true message was the same as Moses and Muhammad: onlt God is to be worshipped. God is only One. Jesus also foretold Muhammad. In the Gospel of John we read of "the Comforter". The Church has said that the Comforter is the Holy Spirit. The Gospel was changed to reflect that idea. But a careful reading of it makes it clear that Jesus was speaking of a human being, not the Holy Spirit.

So the Church has always been threatened by the message of Muhammad. It is a matter of power. That is why it has always tried to make Christians fear and hate Islam.

Sadly, there are far too many Christians who arrogantly refuse to do this, and, though never ashamed of Christ and my faith as a Christian, I sometimes am ashamed of some Christians who look down their noses at any non-Christian - or even other Christians who have slightly differing beliefs to them.

But don't think that all Chrstians are like this, because they are not. Cultivated exclusivity can often lead to a less than positive view of persons practicing other religions. The devout may perceive the others as false gods or false prophets, misguided or even agents of evil. They may be considered sinners or certainly not of the chosen by no reason other than that they practice a different religion.

An accepted negative view of others can predispose the human psyche to then be moved onto stronger emotions such as hate.

Hate often finds a home in the emotions of people when there is a lack of respect, tolerance and understanding for the beliefs of others.
