I got no clue as to why shiva holds a tambourine in her hand. But I think someone should ask that question to mr Bob Dylan... I believe the title *Mr Tambourine man * has something to do with that
Stephen Cramer has written: 'Shiva's drum'
The pot Lord Shiva holds is called a Kamandal. It is a form of pitcher to hold water; carried by sages, yogies and Lord Shiva; who is a sage himself.
In Hindu mythology, Shiva's weapons hold great significance and power. They are believed to symbolize his ability to destroy ignorance and evil forces. Some of his weapons include the trident (trishul), which represents his power to destroy, the drum (damaru), which symbolizes creation, and the snake (naga), which represents his control over time and death. These weapons are considered sacred and are used by Shiva to maintain balance and order in the universe.
