They don't. You can choose your own fate. You don't have to believe in anything or you can believe in everything. Only religions can say you have to be in theirs to scare you into joining. Choose what is best for you, not because somebody has told you. Mix and match from different religions if you like. This might help you gain a better perspective on life.
