Why is Paul's conversion so important for Christians?

He effectively destroyed the teachings of Christ from the first 4 gospels, introduced misogyny and racism to The Bible, incorporated pagan elements and created a power structure that would repress millions of people for centuries for his own personal gratification. Christianity is still recovering from the damage he did and it will likely be centuries before it's done.

The followers of Jesus, including the apostles who wrote the Gospels, were certain he was the promised messiah. But the majority of the Jews did not accept that claim. Paul (known first as Saul) was a learned Pharisee, according to the New Testament, and someone who had also been skeptical about Jesus. But when he decided to accept Jesus and follow the new Christian religion, this was a very important occurrence: there was great hope among followers of Jesus that Paul's conversion would persuade other Jews to also convert. That did not happen. But although most Jews did not join the Christian movement, Paul still became a central figure in the spread of Christianity, as well as in differentiating Christian beliefs from those of Judaism.
