Why is Science trying to prove that God is not real?

• Scientists want to know more on how the world was created and some of them refuse to belive that God created the universe.
• God's existence is deemed by some to be illogical, as well as many beliefs of various religions. Science is the process of reaching something through logical conclusions. "Science" as a process of obtaining beliefs does not explicitly disprove God, but may imply that God does not exist. Some scientists may expound on this, and run experiments attempting to disprove God's existence.
• Science is about the physical world, while God or gods is a metaphysical concept. Science and metaphysics are like two parallel lines - they do not intersect. One can not prove or disprove the other.
• Science is not trying to prove that gods do or do not exist. Science is trying to discover the reason that the Universe works the way it does. As more and more of the mechanism becomes known, there seems to some to be less and less need for a god to fill in the unknown parts. This is similar to the way that the early mapmakers filled in the unknown regions of the world with warnings like "Here be monsters" which are now removed and replaced with oceans and land and real world items.

The simple answer is that science is not trying to prove or disprove that there is a god. It is a topic of no importance. Rather, facts and processes are discovered, and theories and postulates are published, not all of them proven. That's all.
The facts science determines and provides a real word explanation for the superstitious beliefs of many religions is almost incidental. Once there is a provable cause there is no need for magic.
