Why is mission important to Christians?

"And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, then the end will come. " Matthew 24:14

In other words, Jesus said, this must be done. The Bible is truth, flawless in every word. If the Bible says it, it will be done. You can count on that. God can not lie. However, there is the "Father of Lies" and there is no truth in him.

2 Corinthians 10:16 states, "so that we can preach the gospel in the regions beyond you."

Three verses in John talk about God's love for us and that He does not want anyone to perish. John 3:16, 11:50, 10:28

So if God does not want anyone to perish, but have life then the gospel must be preached all over the world just as it states.

Because in what is commonly known as 'The Great Comission' in Matthew 26 v 19-20, Christians are told by Jesus to "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I [Jesus] have comanded you" So basically, in this, Christians are told to go and do mission. Christians feel that part of their Christian faith is telling other people about what they believe, because other people are also God's children and God's creation and Christians believe that God wants everyone to be in His family and to go to heaven after death. They believe that this can only happen if someone becomes a Christian. They believe that not doing mission and not telling others about Jesus would be selfish, which is a sin, because if they don't tell people, these other people will go to hell after death and spend eternity separated from God
