Why is the church the worship place of Christianity?

Christians don't just worship God in a church. A christian can worship God anywhere, any time. But Christians come together to worship God in a church because corporate worship is important. Christians also meet together to encourage one another and to listen to teaching from The Bible.

Roman Catholicism (usually known as Catholicism) is a branch of Christianity so they tend to be the ones who prefer to worship in Roman Cathholic Churches. Alot of people make the mistake of using Christianity and Catholicism interchangeably. There are many branches of Christianity such as Protestantism and Catholicism.

When Christianity began in Jerusalem the apostles and disciples went to the temple to worship and pray, but in time the Jews that did not believe on Jesus and the believers in Jesus began to have a conflict and so a new place was found to accommodate the new "Christians", along with the fact that the followers of Jesus were growing into the thousands and a new place had to be found for their worship. Also when Paul and his group of "missionaries' went to different countries and people there believed on Jesus they had to have a place to meet and so these new meeting places were called churches ("Called out"). So down through the centuries the church has become the worship places of Christians. Jesus Himself actually gave the name "Church" to the disciples (Matthew 16:18), but Jesus was not speaking of a building, but of "called out" believers.

A person's home is a good place to worship. Christians can worship anytime and any place. Sunday, Sunday night, Wednesday night are good times to worship together with other Christians, and worshipping at home is quite acceptable.
