To perform the prayer of 3 rakat witr, you should start by making the intention in your heart. Then, pray two rakats like any other prayer. After completing the two rakats, make the tasleem (saying "Assalamu Alaikum" on both sides). Then, stand up and pray one more rakat, making sure to recite Surah Al-Fatihah and another portion of the Quran in each rakat. Finally, finish the prayer with the tashahhud and salutations.

After completing the first two rakats, sit for Tashahhud before standing for the third rakat. Complete the prayer with Tashahhud and Salam after the final rakat.
