God mercifully provided an innocent animal to die in their place and to cover their shame (Genesis 3:21), by which also He provided them with a clue, as to how the human race would be redeemed by the the blood of Christ (1Peter 1:19,20). Adam and Eve however did die spiritually, being cast out of the presence of God, as well as the process of decay has begun in their physical bodies that would lead to their eventual ageing and death.
