Based on Matthew's Gospel, it is entirely possible that Jesus was born in 10 BCE. In Matthew, Jesus would have been born perhaps some years before King Herod died in April 4 BCE. On this evidence , a year between 6 BCE and 10 BCE would seem likely, although most prefer a date towards the later end of this range.

Luke's Gospel partly supports this, to the extent of simply saying Jesus was born during the reign of King Herod, but on the other hand places his birth at the time of the census, which occurred in 6 CE.
