Why were angels created?

Angels' purpose is to minister to those who are saved, The Bible says. They are not to be worshiped as you can see in the account of Samson's parents in the book of Judges and other places in scripture. They are messengers also as can be seen all through the Bible.

The concept may have originated in Zoroastrianism, where each person is accompanied by a guardian angel which acts as a guide throughout life. The role of a guardian angel is to protect the soul to which it has been assigned. Presumably, this implies a limit to God's powers, since if he had unlimited power and omniscience, as tradition states, there would be no need for God to give us guardian angels.
